ServerEngines is a maker of 10Gb/s Ethernet ASICs used for LAN-on-motherboard applications. The deal was worth $78M in cash, plus eight million shares of Emulex stock, or approximately $149.6M. 165 of ServerEngines employees are joining Emulex as part of the acquisition. According to Google, starting today, users can dial contacts from Gmail, or dial using a keypad. The new feature requires the installation of Google's voice and video plug-in, and also will show a user's Google Voice phone number as an outbound caller ID.
