    Global Blood Therapeutics Finds $40.7M For Sickle Cell Treatments
    San Francisco-based Global Blood Therapeutics said this week that it has raised $40.7M in a Series A financing, for its efforts to develop oral, small molecule drugs for treating conditions such as sickle cell disease. The funding came from Third Rock Ventures. Global Blood's founders include Charles Homcy, and Craig Muir of Third Rock, David Phillips, co-founder of COR Therapeutics, and University of California, San Francisco researchers Matthew (More info...)

    SwitchCam Tunes Into $1.2M
    San Francisco-based SwitchCam, started by Brett Welch and Chris Hartley, said Thursday that it has raised $1.2M via AngelList. The funding was led by Mark Cuban and included 500 Startups, Turner Media Camp, Vikas Gupta, Niket Desai, Reed Morse, David Beyer and Jeffrey Schox. SwitchCam's service shows concerts, events, and conferences via multiple, user-selectable camera angles.
