    VMware Buys Nicira
    Palo Alto-based virtualization software developer VMware said today that it is buying a developer of network virtualization technology, Nicira, in a deal worth approximately $1.05 billion in cash plus approximately $210M in assumed, unvested equity.     Redpoint Closes $130M Brazilian Investment Fund
    Menlo Park-based Redpoint Ventures has just closed a new, $130M fund to focus on investments in Brazil, the company announced this morning. Redpoint e.ventures will invest in early stage Brazilian startups, the fund said, with a locally based team.     San Francisco-based Asana, the startup founded by Facebook's Dustin Moskovitz whic his developing enterprise collaboration software, has raised $28M more in a financing round.     Maveron Boosts Presence In San Francisco
