    Intarcia Therapeutics Gets $210M For Diabetes Treatments
    Hayward-based Intarcia Therapeutics announced Thursday that it has raised $210M in a combination of equity and debt. The developer of diabetes treatment said it raised $160M in a preferred stock private placement, and $50M in private debt.     InboundWriter Adds $2.5M
    San Mateo-based InboundWriter, a developer of software which helps writers optimize their text, announced Thursday that it has raised $2.5M in a funding round. The round came from Crosslink Capital, Castile Ventures, Rho Canada Ventures, Formative Ventures and The Entrepreneurs' Fund III. The firm also said it has named Skip Besthoff as its CEO.     Spruce Media Pulls Up $15M
    San Francisco-based Spruce Media, a provider which provides marketing technology for placing Facebook Ads, said yesterday that it has raised $15M in a debt financing round. The round came from Square 1 Bank. The firm said the financing will go towards sales growth and to scale out its technology development team.

    VuClip Gets $13M For Mobile Video
    Milpitas-based Vuclip, which serves up videos to users over mobile phones, has raised $13M in a Series D funding round. The round was led by SingTel Innov8, and also included NEA and Jafco Ventures. The firm said the funds will go towards global demand, particularly in Asia, he Middle East and Latin America. Vuclip is headed by Nickhil Jakatdar.

    NetApp Buys CacheIQ
    Sunnyvale-based network attached storage giant NetApp has acquired CacheIQ, which was working of caching file storage technology. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. CacheIQ had been based in Austin, and had been buildling products based on technology originally developed at StorSpeed. NetApp said it will integrate the intellectual property from CacheIQ into its product offerings over time.

    Cisco Acquires Cloupia
    San Jose-based Cisco announced this morning that it is buying Santa Clara software firm Cloupia. Cicsco said it will pay approximately $125M in cash plus retention-based incentives for Cloupia, which becomes part of its Data Center Group.     Google Invests $75M In Iowa Wind Farm
    Mountain View-based Google said today that it has invested $75M in a 50 megawatt wind farm in Iowa. The equity investment goes towards a project being developed by RPM Access, in Rippey, Iowa. Google said the power from the project is being sold to the Central Iowa Power Cooperative, and brings its total invested in the renewable energy sector to more than $990M.

    Urban Remedy Gets $1M for Healthy Food, Snacks
    Mill Valley-based Urban Remedy, which provides healthy juices, meal replacements, and gluten-free snacks, has raised $1M in a funding from technology incubator Science Inc. and angels. The company, headed by neka Pasquale, delivers "cleansing" juices, meal replacements, and snacks to user's homes, offices, and other locations. Science Inc. is a startup incubator/studio headed by former MySpace CEO Michael Jones.
