    VMware Buys Virsto Software
    Palo Alto-based VMware said Monday that it is in a definitive agreement to buy Virsto Software, a Sunnyvale-based developer of software for optimizing storage for virtual environments. Financial terms fo the deal were not announced. Virsto's storage management software helps optimize the I/O performance and patterns on block-based storage systems, for VMware's vmdk disk format.     RepairPal Finds $13M
    San Francisco-based RepairPal, an online site providing information on auto repairs, including helping consumers to estimate repair prices on their cars, said Monday that it has raised $13M in a funding round. The round came from Cars.com and Castrol innoVentures. According to the firm, the new funds will go towards product enhancements and its network of auto repair shops. RepairPal is headed by Art Shaw.

    M.dot Acquired By GoDaddy
    Sunnyvale-based M.dot, a developer of a mobile app which lets small businesses create their own mobile websites using their iPhone, has been acquired by domain registration firm GoDaddy. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Go daddy said it has opened up a new office in Sunnyvale as part of the acquisition. M.dot was founded by Dominik Balogh and Pavel Serbajlo, and was venture backed by Floodgate, (More info...)
