    Crocodoc Acquired By Box
    San Francisco-based Crocodoc, a developer of software tools to allow the embedding and viewing of documents in web pages, has been acquired by Box, the two companies said Thursday. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Crocodoc said its technology will remain as a stand-alone offering, but also become available as part of the Box platform.     Ubalo Acquired By Twitter
    Palo Alto-based Ubalo, which is developing large-scale computing technology, has been acquired by Twitter. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Ubalo was backed by Harrison Metal. Ubalo said that Twitter will acquire both the technology and staff from the company.

    DFJ Adds New General Partner
    Menlo Park-based ,a href="http://www.dfj.com">Draper Fisher Jurvetson said Thursday that it has named Bubba Murarka as a new General Partner and Managing Director at the fund. Murarka was previously heading up business development and product for Facebook for Android. DFJ said Murarka will focus on new investment opportunities for the fund; Murarka also has served at Microsoft.

    Matrix Partners Raises $450M Fund
    Palo Alto-based venture investor Matrix Partners said this week that it has closed on a new, $450M fund, Matrix X, its tenth early-stage technology venture fund. The company said the fund is its third, $450M early stage fund for the investor. Matrix said the fund had "significant" over subscription, but that it limited the investment size to fit its focus. Limited Partners in the new fund were not announced.

    Salesforce Buys Clipboard For Social Bookmarking Skills
    Salesforce.com is sharpening its software development efforts with a new team from social bookmarking startup Clipboard. Clipboard and Salesforce.com announced the acquisition Thursday, in a deal which has pegged at between $10M and $20M. Actual terms of the buy were not disclosed.
