    Obopay Raises $20M


    Redwood City-based Obopay said late Thursday that it has closed on $20M of its fourth round of venture funding, and added two new board members. The firm, which provides mobile phone payment services, said that the investment came from Essar Communications Holdings Limited, along with existing investors Alliance Bernstein, ONSET Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Richmond Management, Citi, Societe Generale, Qualcomm, and Promethean India. K B Rajendran of Essar and Robert G. Hottensen, Jr. of Olayan America Corporation have been added to the firm's board as part of the funding.
