Wednesday, January 7, 2009 ooma Upgrades Phone SystemPalo Alto-based ooma has rolled out its next generation voice-over-IP hardware system at CES, saying today that its new Telo will provide users with unlimited US calling for free. The firm said the new cordless handset will be available in the first half of the year, and claimed that the new product will sound better, connect better, and work better than traditional phone and existing VoIP services. The firm said the system will allow for expansion up to six handsets. Pricing on the new systems were not disclosed. Ooma is backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Worldview Technology Partners, The Founders Fund Management LLC, WI Harper Group, the Telecommunications Development Fund, and Draper Richards LP. posted on Wednesday, January 7, 2009
