Qik Extends Mobile Streaming Support
Redwood City-based Qik, an angel-backed mobile live video streaming service, said Thursday that the company has added support for mass market mobile handsets from Nokia and Sony Ericsson. The startup is backed by Marc Benioff, Arjun Gupta, George Garrick, Marc Andreesen, and Ben Horowitz. The service was prviously only available on more advanced PDA an smart phone handsets. Qik said the new software for the mass market handsets is based on J2ME, Java Platform Micro Edition.
