    Report: RIM Buys Dash

Research in Motion, maker of the popular Blackberry, has reportedly acquired Mountain View-based Dash Navigation. No details of the acquisition have been disclosed. Dash was a developer of Internet-connected, GPS-enabled devices. The move comes after Dash abandoned its plans in November for shipping its own hardware, and said it would look to license its application and service to device manufacturers. Dash had raised more than $70M in funding from Artis Capital Management, Crescendo Ventures, Gold Hill Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Sequoia Capital, Skymoon Research and Development, and ZenShin Capital Partners.
