SafeGraph Finds $16M

San Francisco-based SafeGraph, which is developing geospatial intelligence data for the machine learning area, has raised $16M in a Series A funding. The company, led by Auren Hoffman, said the funding round came from IDG Ventures USA, along with over a hundred angels, including Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Romesh Wadhwani, Eric Cantor, KT zu Guttenberg, Prince Turki Al Saud, Jack Dangermond, Barry Sternlicht, Pete Briger, Naval Ravikant, and Nicolas Berggruen. The company says it wants to help "answer humanity's biggest questions" using a "ground truth dataset" initially focused on "human movement". More information »
