San Francisco-based Salesforce.com said today that it has launched a new set of services it is calling Force.com Checkout, which will allow customers to find, try, and buy Salesforce.com applicaitons built by its partners. According to the firm, the new effort will feature both services from Salesforce.com and applications built on its Force.com platform. The Force.com Checkout offering will offer ordering, billing, invoicing, provisioning, and account management services for all subscriptions, including both Salesforce.com and its partners. Salesforce.com said it will process the transactions for and distribute the subscription fees for all of its partners. The company said it is launching the new service with 12 partners and 19 partner applications.
