Sanmina-SCI Sells Personal Computing Business




San Jose-based Sanmina-SCI Corporation said today that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its personal computing business to Foxteq Holdings, a unit of Foxconn Technology Group. Sanmina-SCI--which provides electronic manufacturing services and contract manufacturing to OEMs--said that it has also agreed to sell its Monterrey, Mexico-based personal computing operation and related assets to Lenovo in a separate deal. The total value of both deals is worth between $80 and $90M. The firm said that the move is part of the firm's previous announcement that it would exit the personal computing business.
