    Sonic Solutions Cuts Staff


    Novato-based Sonic Solutions, a maker of software authoring tools for the DVD market and the Roxio-branded consumer software line, said Thursday afternoon that it will cut approximately 100 positions at the firm. According to Sonic, it will also consolidate its Advanced Technology Group and Roxio divisions into a single unit, to "eliminate organizational redundancies." Sonic said it expects to save approximately $14M in annual costs and operating expenses by making the cuts.
