Microsoft Buys Colloquis
Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft has purchased Colloquis, a company that provides natural language processing technology used to automate interaction with users online. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Colloquis has offices in New York and Sunnyvale, California. Microsoft said it will offer services based on Colloquis technology to businesses, through its Windows Live service. Colloquis provides an automated service used by companies like cingular, Compcast, Cox Communications, and others to interact with end users in conversational language. Colloquis is backed by Dawntreader.
