Sunnyvale-based wireless network equipment provider Tropos reported this morning that the firm has deployed a wireless network in the city of Venice, Italy. According to Tropos, the network is the first for the city, and will provide both free and paid wireless access to the public. Tropos said that Venice is making the service available for free to residents, students, and businesses, and will charge tourists and visitors for daily access to the network. Financial impact of the deployment was not disclosed.
