    trueAnthem Gets $2M In Angel Funding


    San Francisco-based trueAnthem announced today that the firm has completed an angel round of funding, raising $2M. The firm says it is developing a music label focused on monetization through social networks. The firm did not disclose investors in the ocmpany. trueAnthem develops widgets for new and emerging music artists, which the firm says allows fans to drop music and related advertising onto their own pages. The firm's advertising sponsored music widgets can be embedded into MySpace, Facebook, and other pages; the firm currently offers widgets from Hootie & the Blowfish, Ultraviolet Sound, and others. trueAnthem is headed by Brad Barnes.
