Thursday, September 17, 2009 Twilio Powers TweetToCallIn reaction to an announcement today that VoIP provider JAJAH is launching a Twitter calling service, San Francisco-based Twilio, pointed out the launch of a Twitter calling project developed in part by one of its employees. According to Twilio's Director of Marketing, Danielle Morrill, she and her husband built the service TweetToCall over five days using PHP, allowing Twitter users to easily call their friends. Unlike Jajah's implementation, the TweetToCall service runs through a separate web site, but allows users to log in to the site using Oauth, allowing users to click to call any of the friends who register with the site. Morrill said in a blog post the service is still working on initiating calls via a tweet, and was built by SocialKind, her husband's startup, using Twilio's telephony API. Twilio is backed by The Founders Fund and Mitch Kapor. posted on Thursday, September 17, 2009
