Emeryville-based b>UPEK, a developer of biometrics devices and software, has raised $6.1M, part of an ongoing, $12.7M funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. The filing indicates that 13 investors have been involved so far in the funding. UPEK has previously raised funding from Diamondhead Ventures, Earlybird Venture Capital, EDBVM, Partners Group, Sofinnova Partners, and Sofinnova Ventures; the firm was spun out of STMicroelectronics in 2004.
