    Zynga Sues Playdom

San Francisco-based social game developer Zynga Game Network has sued competing firm Playdom, based in Mountain View, based on the docket of the California Northern District Court. According to the filing, the trademark suit was filed Friday. No details or comments on the lawsuit have been released by either firm. Zynga is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Institutional Venture Partners, Union Square Ventures, Foundry Group, and Avalon Ventures; Playdom is self-funded. (Update: Paidcontent.org has pulled a copy of the filing, showing that Zynga is suing Playdom over online ads which compare Playdom's Mobsters game to Zynga's popular Mafia Wars game)
