Big Switch Networks Finds $48.5M For SDN

Santa Clara-based Big Switch Networks, a developer of software defined networking (SDN) products, said today that it has raised $48.5M in a Series C funding round. The funding came from Morgenthaler Ventures, Silver Lake Waterman, Index Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Accton, CID Group, MSD Capital, plus others. As part of the funding, former NetApp CEO Dan Warmenhoven and Gary Morgenthaler have both joined the company's board. Big Switch is led by Douglas Murray. The company has now raised $94M.
