Borland Moves To Austin

Cupertino-based Borland Software is leaving the valley, with plans to move its corporate headquarters to Austin, Texas, the company said Monday afternoon. Borland said that the move is being made to take advantage of the area's talent pool and a cost-effective environment, and so that the firm can execute on a plan to profitability. The firm will its finance, human resources, facilities, IT and sales operations to the Austin area by the end of 2007. Borland said it will continue to operate global marketing, legal, and the West Coast sales and services teams from its Cupertino facility.
