Chowbotics Finds $5M In Funding
San Jose-based Chowbotics, a developer of robots for use in the food service industry, said on Thursday that it has raised $5M in a Series A funding round. The funding came from Techstars Ventures, Foundry Group, Galvanize Ventures and the Geekdom Fund. The first product from company, formerly known as Casabots, is "Sally", a robot which automatically makes salad. The company said its technology solves several problems in food service, including compromised cleanliness and inefficiency. Jason Mendelsohn of Foundry Group, and David Cohen of Techstars Ventures both join the company's board with the funding. More information »
