Educents Gets $2.9M

Oaklannd-based Educents, an online retailer which sels toys, educational lesson plans, and other instructional materials to teachers and parents, has raised $2.9M in a seed funding, the company said today. The funding came from SoftTech VC, Crosslink Capital, Deep Fork Capital, Kapor Capital, Learn Capital, Deborah Quazzo (GSV Advisors) and Joanne Wilson (Women's Entrepreneur Festival). Educents is led by Kate Whiting.
