Gynesonics Lands $21M In New Funding

Redwood City-based Gynesonics, a developer of minimally invasive products for treating uterine fibroids in women, said today that it has raised $21M in a Series F funding round. The round was led by HBM Partners, and also included Correlation Ventures, Abingworth, Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) and InterWest Partners. The firm said the new funds will go towards continued clinical and commercial development. Gynesonics is developing ultrasound-guided ablation systems for treating symptomatic uterine fibroids.
