HP Acquires Vertica

Palo Alto-based HP said today that it has agreed to acquire Vertica, a developer of real time analytics software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Vertica makes software used for real-time business analytics, particularly on large, complex sets of data. Vertica was based in Billerica, Mass.
