VMware Releases Free Virtualization Software
VMware has officially released its free virtualization product, VMware Server, saying yesterday that it has made the product generally available. VMware, which develops software used by enterprises to deploy "virtual" PCs on a single piece of hardware, had earlier placed its VMware server product into a free beta. VMware had taken its popular VMware GSX Server product earlier this year and announced that it would make it a free offering, in order to increase adoption and comfort with server virtualization.
