Plano, Texas-based GENBAND, a provider of telecommunications applications an infrastructure, said today that it has acquired Fremont, California-based BayPackets, a provider of IP multimedia platforms. Terms were not disclosed. BayPAckets maintains operations in Fremont and New Delhi, India, and provides IP multimedia platforms for wireline, cable, and wireless service providers. The firm's products are used for VoIP and IMS networks.
