Blue Coat Completes NetCache Acquisition
Sunnyvale-based Blue Coat Systems has completed the firm's $30M acquisition of NetCache from Network Appliance. Blue Coast said today that the final purchase price was $23.9M in cash and 360,000 shares of Blue Coat common stock. The total value as of this afternoon's pricing of Blue Coat was approximately $30.25M. Blue Coast said that the cash for the deal came from an investment from Francisco Partners and Sequoia Capital that closed in June. Blue Coat is a maker of appliance-based network gateways and other networking products.
