Private Equity Funds Raise $177.89B
Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst is reporting that so far this year, U.S. private equity firms have raised $177.89 billion in private equity funds. The amount raised breaks the previous record, set in 2000. Dow Jones said that it includes buyout, corporate finance funds, venture capital, mezzanine funds, and funds of funds in the totals. Last year, there was $158.92 billion raised for the full year. Private Equity analyst said that $118.05 billion of the total was raised by buyout funds.
