Santa Clara-based Silver Peak Systems, which delivers equipment for Wide Area Networking (WAN) acceleration, said today that it has raised $17M in a Series C round. The round was led by Artis Capital Management, and included prior investors Benchmark Capital, Duff Ackerman and Goodrich LLC, Greylock Partners, and Pinnacle Ventures. The funding brings the company's total capital raised to $42M. Silver Peak said the funding will go towards working capital to expand day-to-day operations, including global sales and support infrastructure.
