New Enterprise Associates said Monday that it is expanding its operations in India. The Indian operations are led by Ben Mathias, Vice President, and will focus on investing up to $200M in mid- to late-stage investments within India. NEA said that the expansion is part of its strategic plan to develop a presence in the emerging markets of India and China. NEA said that so far it has invested in Indian firms Sasken, Telsima, Nevis Networks, Protostar, InSilica and GlobalLogic, and is a investor in NEA-IndoUS Ventures, a early stage venture capital fund focused on India and the U.S.
