Google Buys Trendalyzer
Mountain View-based Google has purchased Gapminder's Trendalyzer software, which is used for data visualization and animation, according to Google's blog. Marissa Mayer, VP of Google's Search Products & User Experience, said in a posting today that Trendalyzer generates moving graphics and other novel effects in the display of facts, figures, and statistics in presentations. Financial terms were not disclosed. According to Gapminder, the team that developed Trendalyzer have left Gapminder to join Google in Mountain View.
