Cupertino-based NextBio said today that it has raised $7M in Series B financing for the firm's life sciences search engine. The Series B funding was led by Newbury Ventures, and also included unspecified existing investors. Bruce Bauer of Newbury Ventures joins the firm's board as part of the funding. NextBio is developing a vertical search engine for life sciences data, and is targeted at life scientists and clinicians.
