Covad Cuts Staff
San Jose-based Covad Communications, a provider of voice and data communications services, said this morning that it is cutting its workforce by approximately 8 percent. The company said that it is making the cuts to streamline the firm's business and improve its financial performance. As part of the reduction, the company said it will take a charge of approximately $1.5M in the second quarter.Covad is a provider of DSL, broadband, and other data and Internet services.
