Google Buys GrandCentral Communications
Mountain view-based Google announced today that it has acquired GrandCentral Communications, a company that provides services for managing voice communications. GrandCentral provides a service that integrates a user's existing phone numbers and voice mailboxes into a single, web-accessible account. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. GrandCentral Communications was based in Fremont, and was headed by Halsey Minor, the founder of CNet. Minor also had reported funded the firm with more than $20M in investments.
