Motorola Completes Modulus Video Buy
Motorola said Monday afternoon that it has completed its acquisition of Sunnyvale-based Modulus Video, a developer of MPEG4 compression systems. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Modulus Video develops MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) compression systems used in the IPTV, cable, broadcast, and satellite marketplace. The firm will become part of Motorola's Home and Networks Mobility business, and will remain in Sunnyvale. Modulus Video was backed by Thomas Weisel Partners and Trinity Ventures.
