Dublin, California-based Sybase iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, said today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Coboplan, a provider of GIS software. Financial terms of the all-cash deal were not disclosed by the company. Coboplan is based in Japan, and provides geographical information systems (GIS) software used for mapping information. Sybase said it will use the technology for corporate CRM systems, sales force automation, and car telemetry, and other systems. The deal is expected to close in mid-August.
