VCs Invest $7.1B In Q2, Silicon Valley Sees $2.5B In Investments
PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association have released their quarterly venture capital report, finding that there was $7.1B in venture capital investment in Q2 of 2007, across 977 deals. The level was the highest in a quarter since Q3 of 2001. The report found that the increase in the number of deals was driven by companies in the seed and early stage of development. According to the report, Silicon Valley had $2.527B in venture capital invested in the quarter, with 290 deals, leading the nation in terms of both capital and number of venture deals.
