Ample Communications Acquired By Mindspeed
Mindspeed Technologies said today that it has acquired the product portfolio and intellectual property assets of Fremont-based Ample Communications, a developer of media access controller (MAC) products for the Ethernet market. Mindspeed said it paid $4.6M for the assets of the firm, which was in private foreclosure by its senior creditor. Ample Communications had raised at least $53M in venture funding from Kinetic Ventures, CenterPoint Ventures, InterWest Partners, Rho Ventures, and Storm Ventures.
