Globespan Closes $380M Fund
Venture capital firm Globespan Capital Partners announced today that it has closed its fifth fund, Globespan Capital Partners V, L.P., at $380M. The venture capital firm, which has operations in Palo Alto, Boston, and Tokyo, said that the close of the fund brings its total funds under management to $1.1B. The venture firm said the new fund's LPs include state and corporate pension funds, university endowments, fund of funds, and others, but did not identify any LPs by name. Globespan Capital said that the new fund will now be expanded to directly invest in Japanese technology companies.
