Gemfire Gets $37M
Fremont, California-based Gemfire Corporation, a provider of photonics subsystems and planar lightwave circuits, said late Thursday that it has raised $37M in a private placement. The funding came from Loudwater Partners, which led the round, and also included Centaurus Capital, Uberior Equity Ltd., and Palo Alto Investors. Gemfire said that ThinkEquity Partners was the placement agent for the offering. Gemfire's products are used in the telecommunications and defense industry.
