Amyris Biotechnologies Raises $70M
Emeryville-based Amyris Biotechnologies announced Wednesday morning that the firm has closed on the first tranche of a $70M Series B funding. The round was led by Duff Ackerman & Goodrich Ventures, and also included Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and TPG Ventures. Amyris said the funding will be used to further development and scale up its technology for producting transportation biofuels. Amyris previously raised a Series A round worth $20M in October of 2006.
