San Francisco-based Justin.tv said today that it has opened up its online network, allowing anyone with a web cam to place videos on the firm's web site. The firm said that it will provide personalized pages that allow anyone to show live video, interact with audiences, and archive video sessions. The firm joins companies like Stickam, Operator11, and others in looking to take advantage of the widespread use of Internet webcams. Justin.tv gained a following when it launched last year when the firm's founder, Justin Kan, began broadcasting every minute of his life using a streaming web camera mounted on a cap. Justin.tv is backed by Alsop Louie Partners.
