4Info Gets Investment From NBC
San Mateo-based 4INFO, a provider of SMS and text messaging services, has received an investment from Peacock Equity, the joint venture between NBC Universal and GE Commercial Finance. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. 4INFO is a provider of ad-supported, SMS and text messaging content; the deal includes a deal with NBC Universal to offer its technology and services for NBC. The companies said that NBC Universal will use 4INFO for service such as health tips, fantasy sports player statistics, and other alerts. Peacock Equity said that the deal is the sixth for the $250M fund. 4INFO has previously received funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Gannett Co., Sand Hill Capital, and US Venture Partners.
