Attributor Rolls Out Content Monitoring Tool
Redwood City-based startup Attributor said today it has officially launched its product, for tracking Web content. According to Attributor, it has already signed on the Associated Press and Reuters as customers of its service. Attributor said that its technology digitally fingerprints content, and continually scans pages on the Internet, reporting on where content has been copied. The firm said its system will automatically handle sending requests for content removal and monitor those requests. Attributor is venture backed by Sigma Partners, Selby Venture Partners, Draper Richards, First Round Capital, and Amicus Capital; the firm's CEO is former Yahoo SVP Jim Brock.
