Mountain View-based MIPS Technologies said today that it has appointed John Derrick as President and General Manager of the firm's Processor Business Group. Derrick has served at Intel Corp., which he joined after the firm acquired Conformative Systems, where he was founder and CEO. Derrick also served as entrepreneur in residence at Austin Ventures, and has worked at Chicory Systems, Parthus Technologies, Texas Instruments, and IBM. MIPS is a provider of processor cores for the electronics market.
