Sunnyvale-based Yahoo! Real Estate, San Francisco-based Trulia.com, and Zillow.com said today that the three firms have adopted a single standard data format for real estate listings. The firms said the new data format will allow real estate multiple listing services, brokers, and others to use one format to provide their data to the sites. Other real estate sites which will accept the format are Homes.com, Homescape, Oodle, Point2 Technologies, RealEstate.com, Vast.com, and vFlyer. According to Yahoo, Trulia, and Zillow, the format is based on a new XML format, and will provide information such as address, price, square feet, beds, baths, and additional descriptions of the home.
