Campbell-based Brilliant Telecommunications, which develops NTP (network time) servers and other network synchronization products, said Monday that it has raised $6.1M in a Series B funding. The round was led by ONSET Ventures, and also included Asset Management, Draper Associates, Draper Richards and other investors. Brilliant said the funding will go towards its sales efforts, field trials, and deployment activities. The roudn brings the company's total raised to $13.2M. Brilliant's products are used by telecommunications providers to provide accurate timing using NTP and PTP (precision time protocol). Those protocols are used by telecommunications, Internet and other communications providers to synchronize the internal clocks on their equipment.
