RealNetworks Buys Trymedia
Seattle-based RealNetworks said Friday morning that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Trymedia, a provider of casual gaming titles, from Santa Clara-based Macrovision. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Macrovision had announced the sale of Trymedia, its games unit, Thursday but did not announce the name of the buyer. Trymedia develops casual gaming distribution technology. The deal is expected to close later this quarter.
